Level Measurement in Lime Solution Tanks

Lime is used to raise the pH of wastewater of acidic character. Failure to provide the proper pH operating range is an important treatment chemical as it will adversely affect floccus formation and precipitation.

One of the conditions to consider if precipitation does not occur as a result of polyelectrolyte and Coagulant administration is the lack of alkalinity. Industrial Lime is widely used to increase alkalinity. The powdered industrial lime is diluted in a lime tank and dosed into the fast-slow mixing unit. Since the tank lengths are below 5m and there are liquid mixtures, MICROPULS 55 radar level sensors can be used.

MICROPULS 55 is an ideal sensor for the measurement of particularly aggressive liquids. The electronic amplifier is especially configured for difficult measuring conditions. In this way, the MICROPULS 55 is one of the most useful sensors that can measure up to 30m in particularly demanding liquids, aggressive substances such as acids, caustics, all kinds of chemical mixtures and the like. It is especially preferred in small tanks due to the small area it occupies in the tank, the small dead measuring zone, and the ease of installation.
